The AMA (WA) and Healthway Healthier WA Award is Western Australia's leading public health award, recognising excellence and innovation in primary prevention. An annual $10,000 prize is awarded to an organisation which demonstrates, through a specific intiative (campaign, project, program, strategy or venture), achievement of a significant reduction in the incidence of disease or injury within the WA community.

A $10,000 prize will be awarded in 2014 to the winner of this Prestigious award

Message from the AMA (WA) President & Healthway Chair

Primary prevention makes a positive difference to people's health and there are many examples of successful disease and injury prevention initiative's within WA Communities.

Preventative programs play a critical role in addressing health issues including Chronic disease, road trauma, infectious disease, suicide, domestic violence and workplace injury.

Nominations for the AMA (WA) and Healthway Healthier WA Award are open to WA based organisations from the business, not for profit, local government and community service sectors which can demonstrate significant primary prevention achievements in a segment of the WA community.
